The casino in Baden’s Kurhaus opened on 12 April 1934 as Austria’s first year-round casino. The minimum stake in those days was just 2 schillings. During the war the casino had to close and it did not open again until 9 July 1955 in the Badener Hof, since the Kurhaus was still the headquarters of the Russian occupying forces.
